Soil Physicochemical Properties and Fertility Evolution of Permanent Gully during Ecological Restoration in Granite Hilly Region of South China

Permanent gullies are a serious type of soil erosion. A special permanent gully, called “Benggang” severly affects agricultural production in hilly areas. To reveal the influence Benggang erosion on granitic restoration and fertility, we selected three stages (active, semi-stable stable) recovery subtropical granite region, corresponding samples were collected to analyze spatial variation physical chemical qualities early stage recovery. The properties nutrients significantly different runoff direction each gully. There significant differences no obvious among stages. results principal component analysis showed that level fertility stages, ranked from high low, was as follows: stable, active. vegetation an important factor for restoration. ecological can improve physicochemical soil. However, gully areas this study still needs be improved.
